Inkscape is a free and open-source vector graphics editor used to create vector images, primarily in Scalable Vector Graphics format. Other formats can be imported and exported. Inkscape can render primitive vector shapes and text. It is a professional quality vector graphics software which runs on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows desktop computers. We are using Inkscape as vector canvas for making g-code data/images. Also we have developed several Inkscape extension softwares G-code Maker 2.0 which supports generating g-code data from vector images, you can download it here, that g-code data is being sent to our Arduino CNC Machine | DIY Simple 2D Plotter as vector input.
